Northwest Kansas Bike Show: About Us
The Flatlander Fall Festival, a Celebration of harvest, is
an outdoor event that takes place on Goodland's Main Street the last weekend
of September each year.
Come party on the prairie with a unique family-oriented
motorcycle show, one of the best in the country. In 1994-95, a group of
motorcycle riders created The Northwest Kansas Bike Show which is now
one of the most popular events in the Tri-state Area. The Rally started
as a small event in one city block with 54 motorcycles, but now the event
encompasses two city blocks, a large parking lot and a convention center
and is continuing in its phenomenal growth. In 2005, the event grew to
197 entries. We are trying to bring a fun day and weekend for people to
enjoy..... We're not into this to make a bunch of money, just to cover
the costs and make sure everybody can have a great family weekend.
In addition to the weekend there will be a Early Iron Rod
Run, Antique Tractor Exhibit and Stock Car Racing. Exhibitor booths with a
wide array of local and ethnic food, commercial wares, games, rides and
crafts are available to the public.

The 2004 Northwest Kansas Bike Show was a
tremendous success. The show took place on September 25th and 26th
in conjunction with Goodland’s Flatlander Fall Festival. No one went
away disappointed. The vast array of custom and sport motorbikes and the
camaraderie among all of the riders made for a colorful and exciting
weekend. No doubt many participants, families and Goodland residents will
look forward to the next show in September 2005.
Bike show founder, Casey Quint, has been
riding motorcycles himself for many years. When Casey and his wife and
co-founder, Linda, started the show in 1995, it was to fill a need and get
recognition for bikers that were participating in what was then only a car
show. Through the years, more and more categories of competition have been
added to bring the current total to 28 and prizes are awarded in all of
them. Categories are specific to European, American and Asian models, stock
and custom, touring and sport, antique, etc. One unique and special
characteristic of this show is the “kids”. Casey says, “We try to give
every kid an award. Because they’re our future, you know, and if
we encourage them at a small age to ride motorcycles, and be part of us,
what a deal!”
No one is in this event to make money which
is evident in the fact that pre-registration is not requested. When the
registration fees are collected on Saturday morning, they are not just the
ticket to participation in the bike show and the dinner and awards event.
Riders can be seen later that day maneuvering their motorbikes during the
games, riding down Main Street Saturday night in the Parade of Motorcycles,
at the dance or at breakfast Sunday morning before the Poker Run.
Yes,
it’s a fantastic weekend of fun with the family, friends, good food, and
lots of motorcycle rumblin’. Hope to see you all in 2005!
Come enjoy the events again in September 2007 for a Show
that keeps getting bigger and better.
